The Investor Advocacy Clinic is assisted by Adjunct Professor Jason Doss, an Atlanta lawyer who represents consumers in investment disputes and class actions. Doss is the owner of The Doss Firm, LLC, an Atlanta-based law firm devoted to representing consumers across the country in a variety of areas including securities arbitrations and consumer class action litigation. He has helped recover millions in damages on behalf of individual investors who lost their life savings due to faulty investment advice given to them by well-known brokerage firms.
Doss has also written and lectured on legal topics related to securities arbitration. To help prevent investment and consumer abuse, Doss co-wrote a book, The Retirement Challenge: Will You Sink or Swim?, with best-selling author and investment adviser Frank Armstrong III. Doss also co-wrote A Practitioner’s Guide to Securities Arbitration (ABA 2013). In addition, leading business publications such as the Bloomberg Business Week magazine and Investment News have relied on Doss for analysis of investment related legal issues.
Doss is a past president of the Public Investors Arbitration Bar Association (PIABA) and president and CEO of the PIABA Foundation, which promotes investor education.
He earned his J.D. from Florida State University in 2002 and his B.A. from the University of Florida in 1997. He is admitted to the bars of Florida and Georgia as well the 11th Circuit other federal district courts.
